I. Scope of Application
The composite insulator hydrophobicity live detection instrument is a new type of product for online detection of insulator hydrophobicity. It is suitable for on-line detection of the hydrophobicity of composite insulators on transmission lines of 110kV and above voltage levels, as well as for hydrophobicity testing experiments and factory inspection of various composite insulators and silicone rubber. It is also applicable to the hydrophobicity testing of RTV spray materials for magnetic insulators.
Ii. Detection Principle
The hydrophobicity state of composite insulators is judged in accordance with the water spray classification method of the Swedish Transmission Research Institute (STRI). Based on advanced digital image processing technology, the hydrophobicity state of composite insulators is objectively judged by extracting grayscale information such as information entropy, seed rate, and mean value of spectral amplitude of hydrophobic images, as well as shape coefficients and area percentages of water droplets or water traces.
Iii. Compliance with Standards
It complies with the test standard requirements of DL/T864-201 "Guidelines for the Use of Composite Insulators for AC Overhead Lines with Nominal Voltage Higher than 1000V".
