The roller type wear testing machine mainly consists of a power system, a rotating roller, a sample gripper, an automatic shutdown system, a rack and pinion gear device for sample rotation, a base, and a dust collector. The main principle is: under a certain load, on a certain level of gauze, a cylindrical sample is cross cut and ground on the surface of the gauze for a certain stroke. The mass wear of the sample is measured, and the volume wear is calculated from the density of the sample. In order to make the experiment comparable, standard rubber must be used, and the test results should be expressed as the relative volume wear based on the verified gauze or as the wear base relative to a certain standard rubber.
