Overview

This equipment uses smoldering ignition sources and simulated match flames as ignition sources to conduct anti‑ignition tests on soft furniture. It simulates the anti‑ignition performance of soft furniture when it is impacted by match‑flame and smoldering‑butt‑flame during actual use, thereby determining the anti‑ignition performance of soft furniture. The test chamber is treated with heat insulation. The outer layer is made of stainless steel, and heat‑insulation materials are added to the middle and inner layers. The box body has an elegant and generous appearance.

Scope of application

The anti‑ignition characteristics of soft furniture were evaluated by simulating a match‑flame fire source. It is mainly applicable to the test and evaluation of flame‑resistance characteristics of soft mattresses, soft furniture components, sofas and other household soft furniture.

Compliant with standards

It complies with the requirements of GB17927.1~2‑2011 "Evaluation of Flame Resistance of Soft Furniture‑‑Mattresses and Sofas‑‑Part 1: Smoldering Ignition Source and Part 2: Simulated Match Flames" and ISO 8191‑1~2:1988 test standards.

Performance parameters

Simulated match flame

1. Ignition source system: One stainless‑steel combustion tube, outer diameter (8±0.1 mm), inner diameter (6.5±0.1 mm), length (200±5 mm).
2. Hose: Length (2.5‑3 mm), inner diameter (7±1 mm), connected to the stainless‑steel combustion pipe.
3. Flow control system: Consists of flowmeter, fine‑tuning valve, switch valve and pressure‑regulating valve.
4. Satisfies flow rate requirement of (45±2) mL/min; nominal output pressure of the system: 2.8 kPa.
5. Timing range: 0‑999 seconds. It can separately display and record duration of continued burning or smoldering, fabric cracking time and specimen extinguishing time.

Smoldering ignition source:

1. The smoldering ignition source is cylindrical filter‑tip or non‑filter‑tip test specimens, complying with specifications below: Length: 60±5 mm; Diameter: 8±0.5 mm; Mass per unit length: (0.6±0.1) g/50 mm;
2. Burning time: (12±3) min/50 mm;
3. Take 10 pieces of identical smoldering ignition‑source specimens as one group. Randomly pick one specimen for burning‑time measurement inside the laboratory following specified procedures: Pre‑treat the specimen according to clause 7.1, mark 5 mm and 55 mm from the ignition end. Insert a thin steel needle horizontally into the non‑ignited end, insertion depth ≤11 mm. Ignite according to clause 8.2, record the burning time between the two marks.
4. Laboratory chamber: 2.5 m(L) × 2.2 m(W) × 2.5 m(H), equipped with ventilation duct, stainless‑steel construction.
5. Observation window: Large tempered‑glass viewing window with SUS304 stainless‑steel frame.
6. Gas flow regulation: Adjust test‑gas flow to 45±2 mL/min.
7. Timing setting: 0‑99.99 H/M/S freely configurable.

1. PC‑based control system supports setting and recording test time, test frequency, flame delay time and other parameters. Menu‑guided operation is intuitive and simple for higher‑accuracy test results.

3. Imported PLC + PID full‑automatic control mode with premium‑grade components, featuring high‑speed stable operation. Automatic detection is realized to complete test procedures automatically. Friendly human‑machine interface accelerates detection work and improves accuracy. Configuration software for upper computer can generate temperature‑control curves and export test‑report files automatically, supporting test‑data acquisition and printing.
