1. Test chamber: The experimental setup is a self-standing box with a width of (1000±100) mm, a depth of (2000±100) mm and a height of (4000±100) mm. The rear wall and both sides of the test chamber are insulated with a thermal conductivity coefficient of approximately 0.7W.m-2 · K-1 (composed of 1.5mm thick SUS304 stainless steel plate, with 65mm thick thermal insulation mineral fiber wrapped in the middle), and the exterior wall and door are made of 1.5mm thick SUS304 stainless steel plate.
2. Air source
2.1 The air inlet is equipped with a blower with adjustable air flow rate, which sends air with a flow rate of (5000±500) L/min into the combustion chamber. A digital anemometer is installed at the air outlet.
2.2 After the test is completed: If the sample is still burning one hour after the fire supply is stopped, there is an alarm device and a device to forcibly stop the burning by exposing it to rain
3. Steel ladder type: Standard steel ladder with a width of (500±5) mm and a width of (800±10) mm. The material of the wide steel ladder is SUS304 stainless round steel
4. Discharge and purification device
The upper part of the test chamber is equipped with an exhaust fan, which extracts the waste gas inside the chamber at a speed of 6M/S and sends it to the smoke collection tower. The exhaust port is equipped with a digital anemometer.
4.2 Smoke collection and dust washing device (see DX-349A spray gas absorption tower) : The interior is made of acid and alkali resistant plastic, with a diameter of 800mm and a height of 4000mm.
5. Ignition source
5.1 Type: The ignition source should include one or two propane gas blowtorches with a belt and their matching flowmeters and Venturi mixers. The fire supply surface should be a flat metal plate drilled with 242 holes of a diameter of 1.32mm. The center distance of these holes is 3.2mm, and they are arranged in three rows alternately, with 81, 80 and 81 holes in each row respectively, distributed within the nominal size range of 257×4.5mm. In addition, a row of small holes are opened on each side of the burner plate. These guiding holes can maintain the stable combustion of the flame and comply with the requirements of GB/T18380.31-2008 for blowtorches.
5.2 Each blowtorch is equipped with a rotameter or mass flowmeter capable of accurately controlling the flow rates of propane and air. Propane flowmeter: 3-30L/min, 2.5 grades; air flowmeter: 10-100L/min, 2.5 grades
5.3 Ignition source location
The blowtorch should be placed horizontally, (75±5) mm away from the front surface of the cable sample and (600±5) mm away from the bottom of the test chamber, and the axis of the steel ladder should be symmetrical. The ignition point of the blowtorch should respond
It is located at the center between the two crossbars of the steel ladder and at least 500mm away from the lower end of the sample
